October 14, 2006: Donald
Ryan ~ Ragtime/Jazz Pianist
Donald Ryan has played in Carnegie Hall and at the Stardust
Resort in Las Vegas with a consummate command of jazz improvisation.
He has also toured Europe and played with Henry Mancini, Diahann
Carroll, Joe Williams, and others. His two recordings for Protege
Records are "Raising the Standards" and "The Sweetest
Sounds." In the classical genre, he won the Madeyska Award
during the 1975 Frederick Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland.
He is noted for being an entertainer as well as musician and is
also composer and arranger of music.

November 11, 2006: John
Two-Hawks ~ American Indian Flutist
When John Two-Hawks plays the flute music of the Native
American, he also becomes a teacher of the culture and history of
the Oglala Lakota and their vision of life. A composer, his work
has won Native American Music Awards. He has written four books
and recorded 10 CDs, and some of his music has been heard on The
History Channel television. He has spoken throughout the world on
the knowledge and wisdom on indigenous cultures. He resides in the
Ozark Mountains in Arkansas.

January 13, 2007: Mood
Indigo ~ Jazz Vocal Duo
Mood Indigo is the duo Joe Romano and Susan Elliott. They
are noted for their unique arrangements of classic and contemporary
jazz melodies and close harmonies accompanied by acoustic guitar,
harmonica and hand percussion. Singing together since 1984, the
Houston natives were voted best vocal ensemble in the 1992 Public
News Readers Poll. They perform works of Ellington, Cole Porter,
Gershwin, Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau and Stevie Wonder. Both have
worked across the country. Romano has been a contributing songwriter
for Sesame Street, and Elliott is also an accomplished stage actress
and dancer. In June of 1999, they performed at a 75th birthday celebration
for former President George H.W. Bush in Houston.

February 24, 2007: Strings
Attached ~ String Quartet
Strings Attached was organized in 1985. The three violinists
are Kermit Poling, associate conductor and concertmaster of the
Shreveport Symphony Orchestra; Elizabeth O'Bannon, assistant concertmaster
of the SSO; and Borys Smolaga, principal with the SSO. The cellist
is Ruth Drummon, principal with the SSO. Poling can be heard as
the voice of classical music on the Red River Public Radio Station.

March 10, 2007: Dinner
Theater ~ Dinner Theatre with Folk Music
Accompanying an evening of specially prepared food will be two groups
of Missouri folk musicians. Cathy Barton and Dave Para have
performed traditional music for 25 years and play several stringed
instruments including dulcimers, banjo, guitar and autoharp. They
also play "found" instruments such as bones and spoons.
Cathy has twice won the Tennessee Old-Time Banjo Championships.
The late Roy Acuff called her his "favorite banjo player."
The second group in named The Camp Followers and consists of Danny
McMillen and Rosalie Petersen. McMillen plays guitar while Petersen
plays fiddle, guitar, whistle and mandolin. They were organized
in 1998 as a Civil War era musical group and have recently added
17th and 18th century folk music to their repertory.

April 14, 2007: Kate
Mears Whitney~ Pianist
Kate Mears Whitney is a native of Atlanta, Texas. As a pianist,
she toured throughout the U.S. as an accompanist for Columbia Artist
Community Concerts and has appeared as a soloist with symphonies
in Houston and California. In 2003, she was invited by Whitman College
to present piano master classes and a recital.

CPAC welcomes individual, household, or corporate/business
memberships. Supporting Members, Patrons, Sponsors, and Benefactors
allows CPAC to bring even finer events to our local area
and to enrich community life. As a CPAC Member, you receive:

Concert and Ticket Policies
* Individual event tickets (for non-subscribers) are $15 at door:
$20 for dinner theatre.
* Individual or Season Tickets may be shared if ticket owner is
unable to attend.
* Students are admitted FREE with ticketed adult, except for catered
events.
* Patrons are urged to arrive at least 10 minutes early.
* No Food or drink allowed. No child age 4 and under will be admitted.
* Dates, locations, and artists are subject to change. No refunds.
* Contributions and Memberships in excess of ticket prices are tax
deductible, of course.
