The City of Atlanta is here to assist developers and business-owners in meeting their expansion needs. The Planning Process, including required public hearings, could involve Annexation, Zoning, Subdivision, and Site Planning. This Process will at most take 120 days. Business Certificate of Occupancy

• Electrical: T-Pole, Underground, Rough-In, Ceiling Cover (Commercial Buildings), and Final
• Building: Piers, Foundation, Frame, Final
• Mechanical: Underground, Rough-In, Final
• Plumbing: Gas Test, Water Heater (change out), Rough-In, Top Out, Final
• Fire Protection: Rough-In, Final

Fee Schedule

• Building Permit Fees:

  It shall be the duty of any builder or contractor or owner to pay, and the duty of the city secretary to collect fees for the issuance of building permits in the following amounts:

  • $100.00 or less. No fee unless inspection required, in which case a $5.00 fee for each inspection shall be charged.
  • $101.00 to $2000.00 - $5.00 per thousand or fraction thereof.
  • $2001.00 to $15,000.00 - $10.00 for the first $2001.00 plus $3.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00.
  • $15,0001.00 to $50,000.00 - $49.00 for the first $15,000.00 plus $2.50 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00
  • $50,001.00 to $100,000.00 - $136.50 for the first $50,000.00 plus $2.00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000.00.
  • $100,001.00 to $500,000.00 - $236.50 for the first $100,000.00 plus $1.25 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $500,000.00
  • $500,001.00 and up - $736.50 for the first $500,000.00 plus $.75 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof.

   

• Fee for moving of Building or Structures:

  For the moving of any building or structure, the fee shall be $50.00.

• Mechanical Permit Fees:

  Issue Fee $10.00

  Fee for Inspecting heating, ventilating ductwork, air conditioning and refrigeration systems shall be $10.00 for the first $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars) or fraction thereof, of valuation of the installation plus $2.00 for each $1,000.00 or fraction thereof.

  Fee for inspecting repairs, alterations and additions to an existing system shall be $5.00 plus $2.00 for each $1,000.00 or fraction thereof.
