The Atlanta-Texarkana region offers wonderful opportunities
for family entertainment and fine cultural events. Most
are located within a 1 hour drive of downtown Atlanta. Live professional
fine arts concerts ranging from classical to jazz are presented
by Arts Councils in Atlanta, Texarkana, Shreveport, Marshall, Hope,
Mt. Pleasant, and Longview. Performances by famous entertainers
and national touring productions are presented at venues in Texarkana
and Shreveport, including the Perot Theatre, Strand Theatre, and
casino performance halls. Nationally recognized performing arts
groups, including the Fort Worth-Dallas Ballet, Arkansas Repertory
Theatre, and Houston Symphony, are also located within a 4 hour
drive to Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Little Rock.
